LET'S DO THIS TARPONS!
Today is the FIRST day of practice for 2 groups.
4:15-5:30: ONLY *NEW* 7-10 year olds at The Club
5:00-5:30: ALL 6 & Unders at The Club
Full Team Practices MAY 1, 2018 at THE CLUB
PARENT MEETING: Thanks to all the parents and swimmers that joined us yesterday. Great to see so many new faces as well as so many very familiar faces. If you have questions this week, grab one of our Board members who graciously donate so much time each summer and throughout the year so our Tarpon families have the best experience possible.
NOTES & REMINDERS: A few things were discussed at our meeting yesterday and we thought we'd share with the entire team:
- Please see that your swimmers' fingernails are TRIMMED. Blood is drawn from our coaches too many times early in the season (primarily for 8 & Unders).
- Reinforce proper behavior: No running. Listen to the coaches. Be on time. Try your hardest.
- It's cool. Bring an extra towel, especially for the 10U. Bring a sweatshirt for later practices. Label EVERYTHING.
- In effort to keep everyone safe, swimmers need a CLEAR vision of what's in front of them. Hair ties and swim caps remedy this issue for girls AND guys.
- 13 & Ups: Due to limited lane space (esp at Ellis Creek), we are going to get creative with drylands (non-swimming exercises) and time in pool. Please see that your swimmer has TENNIS SHOES and "appropriate attire" for non-swimming activities (ex: t-shirt to wear over suit, shorts to go over Speedos for guys, etc) every, single day.
MEET OUR COACHES: Most of our coaches were introduced yesterday. Check our FACEBOOK page for an in depth breakdown of who is working with your kids including pictures. These student athletes work HARD with our Tarpons - step out, introduce yourself and your swimmer.
Head Coaches: Brian Russon & Alexandra Remy
Asst. Coaches: Ethan Le, Charles Yuen, Justin Chang & Meg McDonald
Volunteer Coaches: Nishant Shah, Rachel Pringle, Grant Schweikhardt, Maddie Lu, Grant Remy, Cayden Dyrud
REMIND: If you have not joined REMIND, please do so. This will be our main method of communications for drastic changes in WEATHER, PRACTICES & MEETS. We'll be respectful of texting! DIRECTIONS for REMIND
Last but not least...HAVE FUN. Meet someone new each day. Encourage your swimmers to do the same. Ask as many questions as necessary. Allow the coaches to share their love of swimming with your swimmers through LETTING THE COACHES HANDLE THE SWIMMERS. Give them a hug, maybe a little shove towards the pool and know that they are in good hands.
