6. Quick notes
1. Practice this week
Practice is at Ellis Creek on Monday, then at the Club, Tuesday through June 25. Remember that Meet Monday practice schedules are different! You may only practice with your designated age group, unless otherwise specified by the head coaches.
Swimmers need to bring a water bottle, with their name on it, to every practice.
2. Meet #2 June 11
Our second meet is AWAY, at Maplewood (map). It’s a great pool to visit, with plenty of parking and shady spots to sit, but it’s a 30-minute drive, so leave early! Bring your bug spray, extra towels, goggles/caps, snacks/drinks, etc. -- Packing List. Everybody stay hydrated, swimmers AND parents!
Weather happens at swim meets -- keep an eye out for Remind texts in case of lightning, and don’t leave the parking lot if there is a weather delay.
No sunscreen on swimmers’ arms until events are marked. If you remember your swimmer number from last week, it helps if you mark your own hand at home before arriving, like this:
3. Arrival times for Meet #2
Showing up *ON TIME* for your shift is part of your volunteer responsibility. Allow enough time for travel (30 minutes) and parking at the away meet. For meet-day volunteer emergencies, text Jamie at 832-216-6175.

4:15 PM Swimmers: Sign in at your age group tent at 4:15 PM.
4:30 PM First-half volunteers and relay stroke judges: Sign in at the volunteer table by 4:30 PM and get instructions for when and where to report.
6:00ish PM Second-half volunteers: Sign in at the volunteer table between 6:00-6:30 PM. If you arrive earlier, please wait until 6:00 to give the volunteer coordinators time to work on first-half responsibilities.
Also, Monday, June 11, is the deadline for signing up for all of your 5 volunteer shifts for 2018 on the website. Questions? [email protected]
5. Meet absences -- tell us TODAY
If your swimmer is NOT going to be able to swim at a future meet, please report your absence now with the MEET ENTRY button (illustrated how-to directions > HERE). We assume that all swimmers will attend, unless you report an absence. The coaches start lining up heats and relays on Friday and Saturday, so report absences early.
If you have an illness or emergency that forces you to be absent for this Monday’s meet, please email ALL of these people: coaches Brian [email protected] and Alex [email protected], meet director Mel [email protected], AND volunteer coordinators Jamie & Purvi [email protected]. For meet-day volunteer emergencies, text Jamie at 832-216-6175.
